Pão de Ló de Figueiró dos Vinhos is an airy egg, sugar and flour cake recognised by the fluted ring shape left by its baking mould. A toasted surface encloses a yellow, light, fine-pored crumb.
It belongs to the town's confectionery tradition, sharing the local table with castanhas doces. Its central opening and ridges create a silhouette distinct from both low moist versions and round pão-de-ló cakes served in paper.

Local and regional authorities associate Figueiró dos Vinhos confectionery with the former convents of Nossa Senhora da Consolação and Nossa Senhora do Carmo. Preserved by local confectioners, the tradition continued beyond the nineteenth century and remains available year-round, especially at Christmas and Easter.
