Folar de Cereja e Ouro is a tall, exuberant crown built from rolls of sweet dough arranged like roses. Dark-red Fundão cherry preserve shows in the spirals; glossy whole cherries, golden angel-hair eggs and a white icing drizzle cover the top. At the centre stands the element behind its name: a boiled egg entirely wrapped in edible gold leaf.
Its construction starts from bolo das rosas and turns the traditional egg-bearing folar into a showcase confection. Enriched yeast dough, egg cream and angel-hair eggs provide richness, while tart cherry balances the sweetness and connects Easter with Cova da Beira's emblematic fruit.
- enriched sweet yeast dough

Rich buttery bread, sweet-tart cherry, intensely sweet yolk and sugar icing, contrasting soft crumb with silky angel-hair eggs.
The reference piece is a rose-shaped crown with cherries, egg cream, angel-hair eggs and a central gilded egg. It should not be confused with a simple cherry folar or the Fundão Cherry Pastry.

This is a specialty of Doce & Arte in Fundão, developed from a bolo das rosas recipe. Central Portugal tourism sources include Folar de Cereja de Ouro among Fundão's typical Lenten sweets and describe it as an Easter-table fixture.
In 2019 it was nominated for the Seven Wonders of Portuguese Sweets in the Innovation category. The same creation also appears in municipal cherry festivals, showing how Fundão pastry united two seasonal identities: Easter folar and the Fundão cherry.
